HEALTHY MILLETS
KODO MILLET - VARAGU
Kodo millets aid in wound healing, weight loss, and diabetes management. Kodo millet is also known as ditch millet, cow grass, rice grass, and Indian cow grass. Its names include Harka in Kannada, Kodon in Urdu, Arikalu in Telugu, Kodo dhana in Hindi, and Kodo dhana in Tamil.
SORGHUM - JOWAR/SOLAM
A genus of plants belonging to the grass family is sorghum. Seventeen of the twenty-five species are indigenous to Australia, and several others also have ranges in Mesoamerica, Africa, Asia, and a few islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
PROSO MILLET - PANIVARAGHU
Proso is advantageous for anti-aging because it contains a lot of antioxidants. Antioxidants are chemicals that purge free radicals from your body. Free radicals are produced by almost all physiological activities. These substances damage and wear out cells, which causes them to age.
FOXTAIL MILLET - THINAI
The high calorie content of fox millets gives farmers the endurance and energy they need to labour hard in the fields. This cereal is both vegan and gluten-free. Low in fat, high in protein, and fat content. In fox millets, fibre, calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, and carbohydrates can all be found in moderate amounts.
FINGER MILLET - RAGI
Most of the world's dry regions, including Asia, Africa, and other continents, are where finger millet, also known as ragi, is farmed. Ragi has a distinctive taste. Ragi contains large amounts of calcium, iron, protein, fibre, and other minerals.
PEARL MILLET - BAJRA/KAMBU
Pearl millet can be used to effectively treat diabetes. Due to its high fibre content, it tends to digest more slowly and release glucose more gradually than other foods. This maintains stable, healthy blood sugar levels over the long run.
